He served eight years in the Florida House of Representatives. During this time, he served as Chairman of the Committee on Military and Veterans Affairs as well as other key committee assignments such as Transportation, Governmental Efficiency, Education, and other committees. Rep. Jordan also served on the Base Realignment and Closure Committee (BRAC) as the only Committee Member from the Florida House of Representatives. The success of the BRAC effort accounted for over 50 billion a year in economic impact. This experience provided much success and contact with the military community.
He has been appointed to membership on the Governor's Task Force. He served as Chairman of the Governor's Task Force on Education which had the mission to create and design an educational system from preschool through the university level for the twenty-first century.
He has received many forms of recognition and honors from the community and professional organizations (E.g., Veterans of Foreign War Legislator of the Year, the American Legion Leadership Award, Children's Home Society and many more available upon request).
He has been recognized by the Florida Chamber of Commerce as an A+ Legislator regarding Business Leadership.

Stan Jordan brings a wide range of experience to any project. He served in the Florida House of Representatives for 8 years. During that time, he was Chairman of the Committee on Military and Veterans Affairs. As an experienced retired Senior Army Officer, he was a Rotor and Fixed Wing Aviator and an Instructor Pilot. During the 2008 Legislative Session, Rep. Jordan received from the Governor and the Speaker of the House, the highest military award that could be given in the State of Florida. His highest U.S. Army award was the Legion of Merit; one of his highest honors was his induction into the Fort Benning Officer Candidate School Hall of Fame.
He supported the bill that provided World War II and Korean veterans the opportunity to receive their High School Diploma, which they never received. It was a great honor to present them their well-earned Diploma from the High School of their choice. The audience loved it.
Jacksonville was the host city for the NFL Superbowl in 2005. In 2004, Representative Jordan, through his persistent leadership, convinced the Commissioner of the NFL and the Owners to salute the greatest generation during the Superbowl. This pre-game presentation, shown world-wide, was a fitting and emotional experience. Presidents George H.W. Busch and Bill Clinton were part of the presentation, as well as many other World War II veterans. The salute to the greatest generation recognized the 1945 ending of World War II.
He also spent 17 years as a member of the Duval County School Board, one of the nation’s largest school system with over 120,000 students. He served as Chairman of a Board which had over 13,000 employees and a billion-dollar budget. He has owned and operated successful businesses for many years.

Dear Sir/Madam,
By way of introduction, I am Major General (Retired) Douglas Burnett, former Adjutant General of Florida. In the capacity of Adjutant General, I commanded the entire Florida National Guard, both Army and Air, from 2001 to June 2010.
I hereby give my highest recommendation for Colonel (R) Reppard (Stan) Jordan's nomination to the Florida Veterans' Hall of Fame. I have known him since 1971 and have found him to be a leader whose passion in life is that of serving others in the community and military. His service to the greater Jacksonville area as a prominent civic leader and public servant is well recognized, respected, and acknowledged.
When State Representative Jordan served in the Florida legislature, he worked tirelessly to ensure Florida would receive a national military cemetery. He sponsored and passed a resolution in 2002 to be presented to the President and Congress of the United States requesting priority consideration for the cemetery. North Florida now has a national military cemetery—testimony to his respectful persistence in support of Veterans and communities.
He sponsored and presented Military Appreciation Day in the Florida House; the programs were so powerful that PBS aired them state-wide on Veterans' Day; see FloridaSalutes.com where they can still be viewed.
He also designed, and sponsored the bill that created, Florida's license plates for the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard. The sale of these license plates has raised 10's-of-millions of dollars, tax-free, for Florida's Veterans' Nursing Homes.

Representative Jordan ensured laws were passed that supported our military service members and military families. These were "legislative models of emulation" for other states across America and were adopted by legislatures after enacted in Florida. The list is long and includes, recognition of transferring military spouses' professional credentials, free fishing licenses and entry to state parks for military members, and free annual vehicle registration renewals for Florida National Guard members. He also supported a bill which pays the Servicemembers' Group Life Insurance (SGU) premiums for Soldiers and Airmen deployed to combat; while other states adopted this law, to my knowledge,
Florida is the only to pay the entire amount of the maximum coverage.
He was a "critical success factor" in legislation that funded renovation of Florida's National Guard Armories. This funding exceeded $50,000,000 during his tenure as Chairman of the Committee on Military and Veteran Affairs of the Florida House.
His accomplishments, for benefit of our servicemen-and-women, are significant, noteworthy, and have a lasting effect on the well-being and morale of those serving the state of Florida and the United States in uniform. For this reason, Representative Jordan was awarded the Florida Meritorious Service Medal by the Governor and Speaker of the House in 2008; this is Florida's highest award that can be presented to a civilian.
