Technical Sergeant Joseph Celli
Technical Sergeant Joseph J. Celli
Technical Sergeant Joseph J. Celli served in World War II as an engineer of a heavy equipment unit building roads and transporting supplies. After Celli retired from the military he drove long haul trucks and worked his way up to President of the trucking company. In Celli’s retirement he chose to give back by helping disabled veterans and his community.
Celli was blind in his later years. He used technology to teach himself and other veterans how to survive in a dark world. Celli teamed up with VetDogs to help blind veterans receive blind service dogs. Celli served on the Martin County Zoning Board and was responsible for developing a 100 unit HUD housing facility for his community. Celli also distributed toys and bicycles for children during the holidays for his community.
“There probably wouldn’t be a Big Heart Brigade without Joe Celli,” says Jeanette Mueller, president. “He has given so much time and energy to this organization and community.”
